UTEK has been invited by the Spanish Navy to participate in a demonstration exercise of unmanned systems capabilities organized by the Portuguese Navy and with the participation of various NATO countries, called REP (MUS) 21
UTEK has participated with its unmanned vessel KALUGA DS (Defense & Security) equipped with advanced control and communications systems, as well as highly sensitive image sensors. On the other hand, it has been able to validate in a real environment the operation of its recently released mission planning and automatic navigation control systems, participating in numerous complex missions defined by the organization of the exercise.
In addition, the KALUGA DS has been integrated into the command and control environment of the exercise, sharing data and video with the rest of the systems.
A group of officers from the Spanish Navy has been stand out in Troia (Portugal), coordinating activities at all times and giving support to participants both logistically and operationally.
Participation in these exercises has allowed us to measure our capacities with other Spanish and European companies, highlighting that the systems and capacities they have developed are up to the most demanding scenarios. The use of unmanned systems in the maritime environment is being increasingly demanded by the Armed Forces of various countries, since they can be used as support elements for manned vehicles, avoiding risks for crews and providing persistence in operations.
