UTEK demonstrates an autonomous system for training in Surface Warfare (SUW) operations

UTEK has recently presented its solution for SUW training based on an Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV), a towed target and a portable ground control station.

This kind of solution eliminates risks for the crews when real fire is used. It also provides a good training environment thanks to high standard vehicle capabilities. Additional equipment (mechanical or electronic countermeasures) can be included for training in complex missions. The system can be used for training in threats localization by visual or electronics means as well as naval shooting exercises from vessels, coast or aircraft, providing a multipurpose and low cost solution.

This project plays an important role in UTEK’s strategy for developing specific applications which require high reliability and advanced performances systems to face the increasing demand in unmanned surface vehicles. The company has already received expressions of interest from different Armed Forces all around the World.
