UTEK in the final conference of European Project PICASSO

Last May 23rd, UTEK, with its Kaluga USV, tooks part in the final conference of European Project PICASSO (Preventing Incidents & Accidents for Safer Ships in the Oceans). The even took place in Centro de Seguridad Marítima Integral Jovellanos of SASEMAR in Gijón.

At the conference, the Valenciaport Foundation presented the results of the exercise carried out last February in SAGGAS facilities, in which UTEK participated with its unmanned boat.

UTEK unmanned vessel (USV) performed a demonstration of capabilities for applications related to search & rescue and port security and surveillance.

During the event, Salvamento Marítimo carried out various demonstrations of its capabilities, such as the case of a search and rescue simulation (SAR) with a helicopter, or the evacuation of a ship by means of a free-fall lifeboat vessel.
